One billion views. It’s a number that the film industry has never attached to a movie trailer before — until Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Released on March 17, the trailer cleared the billion mark in just four days, with WaveMetrix confirming 1.1 billion views by Tuesday. Tom Holland’s web-slinger has outdone everyone, including himself.

In its first day, the trailer racked up 718.6 million views — a figure that beat Deadpool & Wolverine’s 365 million Super Bowl record, Spider-Man: No Way Home’s 355.5 million, and Grand Theft Auto VI’s 475 million first-day count. Brand New Day’s opening performance was more than 50% higher than the closest competitor, and it only kept growing.

The billion-view milestone is a genuine first in movie history. Trailers for the biggest blockbusters, the most popular gaming franchises, and the most-subscribed streaming services had never come close. Brand New Day has placed itself in a position that no rival can realistically challenge.

Opening July 31, the film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. It represents Phase Six of the MCU and is the fourth entry in the Holland Spider-Man saga. It will debut in India in six languages at premium theatres.

The trailer captures a profoundly human Peter Parker in a world that has erased him from its memory. The emotional tone generated waves of fan engagement, with viral posts, alternate film titles, and social media sharing dominating online culture. Brand New Day has arrived, and the world is more than ready for it.
