Anthropic, the developer of the Claude AI chatbot, has completed a $30 billion funding round that values the company at $380 billion. This represents more than a doubling from the $183 billion valuation achieved just five months prior in September.
The investment was led by GIC and Coatue Management, representing one of the largest private capital raises on record. The backing from major institutional investors underscores the perceived transformative potential of Anthropic’s AI technology.
The company reports impressive revenue figures, with annualized revenue of $14 billion. Anthropic has accomplished tenfold revenue growth in each of the past three years, placing it among the elite performers in the global technology sector.
Claude Code, the AI coding tool that launched for general availability in May 2025, has been a major contributor to revenue growth. The product has resonated particularly well with enterprise clients seeking AI-powered development assistance.
Despite substantial spending on infrastructure and research, Anthropic forecasts improving margins. The company expects to reduce cash burn to approximately one-third of revenue in 2026, declining to 9% by 2027, with break-even targeted for 2028.
